Tanglewood Estate

Tanglewood features eight acres of vines on fifty acres of bushland at Merricks North where we planted our first vines in 1984.
Our premium cool climate variety wines are made, bottled and predominately sold from the estate and the small winery is equipped with facilities for functions including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and other special events for up to eighty people. Our chefs produce fine meals from local produce while our restaurant, with views over the bay, serves lunch at times by arrangement.

Tanglewood Wines

At Tanglewood we produce Riesling and Traminer with wonderful fruit flavours, ideal for serving with light lunches.
Our Chardonnays are more complex being barrel fermented and aged on lees in prime French oak. Our Pinot, a variety with a great reputation on the Mornington Peninsula, has barrel ferment characters and rich fruit from our four clones of this variety. Tanglewood's Cabernets are a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, with at least two years storage in barriques and one year in the bottle. Small quantities of Merlot and Shiraz are produced as a special bottling and these are blended from three vintages to produce complex wines of great character.



Weddings

Tanglewood offers an unique experience in combining the traditional Australian woodland, open pastures, and magnificent views of Port Phillip Bay in a quiet and peaceful setting. The winery has considerable character and is designed to maximise the views of the bay and, through large floor to ceiling doors, integrate the outside environment with the dining area. Tanglewood Estate offers a superb location for that special day where we can seat up to eighty guests in the dining area or up to one hundred and fifty seated with the addition of a marquee. We also have access to a dedicated wedding co-ordinator to assist with all elements of your reception including decor, flowers, music, menus, timing, accommodation, and transport. Create a special menu with vegetarian and other options available to suit your individual requirements. No extra charge to have your ceremony in one of a number of special places on the property.
