At Tanglewood Estate we have eight acres of vines on fifty acres of bushland at Merricks North. The first vines were planted here in 1984. Our premium cool climate variety wines are made, bottled and predominately sold from the Estate. Our small winery is equipped with facilities for functions and our chefs produce fine meals from local produce. A Restaurant with views over the bay serves lunch at times by arrangement. We also cater for Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries and other special events for up to 80 people.

| Riesling and Traminer produce wines with wonderful fruit flavours ideal for serving with light lunches. Our Chardonnays are more complex, being barrel fermented and aged on lees in prime french oak. Pinot - a variety with a great reputation on the Mornington Peninsula, has barrel ferment characters and rich fruit from our four clones of this variety. The Cabernets are a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. With at least two years storage in barriques and one year in the bottle, Cabernets are quite drinkable on their release. Small quantities of Merlot and Shiraz are produced as a special bottling these are blended from three vintages to produce complex wines of great character. |
